Pet Vaccinations
at Walk In Clinic for Animals
Vaccinations are a key part of your pet’s healthcare routine, offering essential protection against a range of infectious diseases. At the Walk In Clinic For Animals, we understand the importance of keeping your furry friend healthy and safe, which is why we offer pet vaccinations. If you can’t get into your usual veterinarian, or you’re going away and need urgent vaccination for boarding kennels or catteries, the good news is, we offer several vaccinations at our clinic.
Dog vaccinations
It is recommended all dogs get the core C3 vaccination. The ‘C3 vaccine’ helps protect dogs against canine distemper, canine parvovirus and canine hepatitis. Depending on your pet, the C3 vaccine can be given either yearly or every three years. We also recommend dogs get the kennel cough vaccine every year, which can be delivered in an injectable or intranasal form. The kennel cough vaccine when given with the C3 vaccine is often called the ‘C5 vaccine’. The C5 vaccine is considered the base vaccine that all dogs in Canberra should receive.
Additional vaccinations such as leptospirosis might be relevant to your dog, however we recommend you speak to your regular veterinarian about whether these are required for your pet or not.
Cat vaccinations
We recommend all cats get at least the ‘F3 vaccine’ annually. The F3 vaccine helps protect cats against feline panleukopenia, feline calicivirus and feline herpesvirus. Some cats may be exposed to these diseases before they’ve been vaccinated, particularly those who were kittens in shelters or breeding catteries prior to adoption, however it’s still important to have your cat vaccinated annually, particularly if they go outside or interact with other cats.
Additional vaccination such as FIV might be relevant to your cat, however we recommend you speak to your regular veterinarian about whether these are required for your pet or not.
